Revive Us, O Lord
“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” — Psalm 85:6
Revival is more than a meeting on the church calendar. Revival is God breathing fresh life into His people.
Before we ask God to change our community, our nation, or the world around us, we must be willing to say, “Lord, begin with me.”
During these 30 days, we will pray through five areas:

May September become more than a month when we talk about revival. May it become a month when we sincerely pray:

Revive Me
September 1 — Search My Heart
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:” — Psalms 139:23
Devotional
Revival begins with an examination of our own hearts.
It is easy to see what is wrong with the world. It is even easy to see what needs changing in somebody else. But David turned the searchlight inward and said, “Search me.”
That is a dangerous prayer because God may reveal something we would rather ignore. He may show us bitterness we have held onto, pride we have excused, priorities that have gotten out of order, or spiritual coldness that has slowly crept into our lives.
But God does not reveal these things to destroy us. He reveals them so we can bring them to Him.
Before we pray, “Lord, revive our church,” let us first pray, “Lord, revive me.”
Today's Prayer
Lord, search my heart today. Show me anything that is standing between You and me. Help me confess it, forsake it, and walk closer to You. Begin revival in me. Amen.

September 2 — Create in Me a Clean Heart
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10
Devotional
David knew that he could not repair his own heart.
He didn't ask God to help him hide his sin better. He didn't make excuses. He cried, “Create in me a clean heart.”
Real revival requires honesty about sin.
We cannot cling to the very things that grieve God while asking Him to revive us. There may be habits that need to go, attitudes that need to change, apologies that need to be made, or sins that need to be confessed.
The wonderful news is that God's grace is greater than our failures.
Whatever yesterday looked like, you can come honestly before Him today.
A clean heart is a wonderful place for revival to begin.

Father, forgive me for every known sin in my life. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Help me live today in a way that pleases You. Amen.

September 3 — Draw Near to God
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” — James 4:8
Devotional
Sometimes we say, “God feels far away.”
But the question we should ask is, Who moved?
Our schedules become crowded. Prayer gets rushed. Bible reading gets pushed aside. Worship becomes routine. Before long, we can be doing Christian things without enjoying close fellowship with Christ.
James gives us a beautiful promise: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”
God is inviting us closer.
Revival is not merely becoming more active for God. Revival is getting closer to God.
Take some extra time today. Put distractions away. Open His Word. Talk to Him. Sit quietly before Him.
You may discover that the God you thought was far away has been waiting for you to draw near.

Lord, forgive me for allowing other things to crowd You out. Draw me closer to You. Help me desire Your presence more than the distractions of this world. Amen.

September 4 — Restore the Joy
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” — Psalm 51:12

David did not ask God to restore his salvation. He asked God to restore the joy of it.
Sometimes Christians can remember when they were more excited about Jesus than they are today.
There was a time when church thrilled us, Scripture spoke freshly to us, answered prayer amazed us, and telling someone about Jesus came naturally.
Then life happened.
Burdens came. Disappointments came. Routine settled in.
Today, remember what Jesus has done for you. Remember where He found you. Remember that your sins are forgiven. Remember that Heaven is your home.
Salvation is still worth rejoicing about!
Today's Prayer
Jesus, thank You for saving me. Restore the joy of my salvation. Give me a fresh excitement about who You are and what You have done for me. Amen.

September 5 — Hunger for God's Word
“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” — Psalm 119:97

A revived heart develops an appetite for the Word of God.
We make time for what we hunger for.
We can spend hours scrolling, watching television, following sports, working on hobbies, or doing countless other things and then say, “I don't have time to read my Bible.”
The issue may not always be time. Sometimes it is appetite.
Ask God today to make you hungry for His Word.
Don't read the Bible simply to finish a chapter. Read it expecting God to speak through His truth.
Open it with this prayer:
“Lord, show me something today.”

Lord, give me a hunger for Your Word. Help me not merely read it, but believe it, obey it, and live it. Speak to my heart through Your Word. Amen.

September 6 — A Praying Heart

Revival and prayer have always belonged together.
Prayer is more than asking God to fix our problems. Prayer is fellowship with God.
We pray when we're afraid. We pray when we're thankful. We pray when we're confused. We pray when someone needs help. We pray when everything is going well.
“Pray without ceasing” means prayer becomes part of the rhythm of our lives.
Imagine what God might do if His people became praying people again.
Before making the phone call—pray.
Before making the decision—pray.
Before going to work—pray.
Before walking into church—pray.
Before giving up—pray.

Lord, teach me to pray. Help me depend upon You throughout every part of my day. Make prayer my first response instead of my last resort. Amen.

September 7 — Faithful Again
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2

God has not called every Christian to be famous, but He has called every Christian to be faithful.
Faithfulness is showing up when nobody applauds.
It is praying when nobody hears you. Serving when nobody notices. Giving when nobody knows. Worshipping when you don't feel like it. Continuing when quitting would be easier.
Revival produces faithfulness.
Today, don't worry about doing everything.
Ask God:
“What have You given me to do?”
Then be faithful there.

Lord, make me faithful. Help me faithfully worship, pray, serve, give, witness, and follow You. May You be able to trust me with whatever You place in my hands. Amen.
Revive Our Homes
September 8 — Strengthen Our Marriages
“What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” — Matthew 19:6
Devotional
Strong churches are helped by strong Christian homes, and strong Christian homes need marriages built upon Christ.
Marriage faces tremendous pressure today. Busyness, financial stress, selfishness, poor communication, temptation, and unresolved hurt can slowly create distance.
That is why we should pray for marriages—not only when they are struggling, but while they are strong.
Pray that husbands and wives will love each other, forgive quickly, communicate honestly, pray together, and keep Christ at the center.
A revived church should include revived marriages.
Today's Prayer
Lord, strengthen the marriages in our church and community. Protect husbands and wives from anything that would divide them. Help our homes be built upon You. Amen.

September 9 — Give Parents Wisdom
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Parenting has never been a small responsibility.
Parents are raising children in a world constantly competing for their attention, values, and hearts.
Children need more than food, clothing, education, and activities. They need spiritual direction.
They need to see Christianity lived at home.
Parents will not always have every answer. That is why they desperately need God's wisdom.
Today, pray for parents. Ask God to help them know when to correct, when to encourage, when to speak, and when simply to listen.
Today's Prayer
Father, give parents wisdom. Help them raise their children to know You, love You, and follow Your Word. Give them patience, courage, consistency, and grace. Amen.

September 10 — Protect Our Children

Children mattered to Jesus.
They should matter deeply to us.
There are voices everywhere trying to shape what children believe about themselves, the world, right and wrong, and God.
Our response cannot simply be fear.
We pray. We teach. We love. We point them to Jesus.
Pray specifically for the children in your family and church today. Ask God to protect their minds, bodies, hearts, and futures.
Most importantly, pray that every child will personally come to know Jesus Christ.

Jesus, place Your hand upon our children. Protect them and guide them. Surround them with godly influences and draw their hearts toward You. Amen.

September 11 — Reach This Generation
“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;” — Ecclesiastes 12:1

Young people do not have to wait until adulthood to serve God.
Throughout Scripture, God used young people.
Our teenagers need more than entertainment. They need truth, purpose, godly examples, and a genuine relationship with Christ.
Instead of simply complaining about this generation, let's pray for them.
Pray that God will save young people.
Pray that Christian teenagers will stand boldly for Christ.
And pray that God will raise up preachers, missionaries, teachers, worship leaders, and faithful servants from among them.

Lord, reach this generation. Save our young people and give Christian teenagers courage to stand for You. Raise up young men and women who will serve You faithfully. Amen.

September 12 — Heal Broken Relationships
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” — Ephesians 4:32

Sometimes the deepest wounds come from the people closest to us.
A harsh word becomes resentment. A disagreement becomes distance. Pride keeps both sides waiting for the other person to make the first move.
Revival cannot thrive where bitterness is being carefully protected.
Maybe today God brings someone to your mind.
You may not be able to control what they do, but you can control your willingness to forgive, pray, and pursue peace.
Sometimes revival begins with two simple words:
“I'm sorry.”

Lord, heal broken relationships. Remove bitterness and pride from our hearts. Give us grace to forgive as You have forgiven us. Amen.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13

Nearly every Christian has someone they desperately want to see saved.
A spouse. A child. A parent. A sibling. A grandchild. A friend.
Sometimes we have prayed so long that discouragement whispers, “Nothing is happening.”
Don't quit.
You cannot save them, but Jesus can.
Today, instead of merely saying, “Lord, save my family,” call specific names before God.
Ask Him to open their hearts, arrange opportunities for them to hear the Gospel, and give you wisdom to be a faithful witness.
Keep praying.

Lord, I bring my unsaved loved ones before You. Convict their hearts and help them see their need for Jesus. Give me opportunities to lovingly share the Gospel with them. Amen.

September 14 — As for Me and My House
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15

Joshua made a decision about the direction of his home.
“We will serve the LORD.”
Every Christian home needs that same determination.
Our homes should be places where Jesus is honored, prayer is normal, Scripture is respected, forgiveness is practiced, and love is visible.
No home will do this perfectly.
But we can determine its direction.
Today, dedicate your home to God again.

Lord, I give my home to You. May everything within these walls honor You. Help our family love You, serve You, and follow You together. Amen.
Revive Our Church
September 15 — Revive Your Church

Revival is not something we can manufacture.
We can schedule meetings. We can organize programs. We can sing songs and preach sermons.
But only God can breathe spiritual life into His people.
Today our prayer turns toward our church.
We aren't simply asking God for more people.
We're asking for more of Him.
May our worship have life. May our prayers have faith. May our preaching have power. May our service have joy. May sinners be saved and believers changed.
Lord, revive Your church!

Lord, send revival to our church. Stir our hearts. Renew our passion. Fill our worship, preaching, teaching, fellowship, and ministry with Your power. Amen.

September 16 — Make Us One

A divided church cannot effectively show a watching world the love of Christ.
Unity doesn't mean everyone has the same personality, preferences, or opinions.
Our unity comes from Jesus.
The enemy would love to divide God's people over small things. Revival causes us to remember what matters most.
Jesus matters.
The Gospel matters.
Souls matter.
Today, pray that love for Christ will always be greater than personal preferences.

Lord, protect our church from division. Help us love one another, forgive one another, and work together for the Gospel. Make us one in Christ. Amen.

September 17 — Strengthen Our Pastor and Leaders
“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”— Hebrews 13:17

Church leaders need prayer.
Pastors, deacons, teachers, ministry leaders, and volunteers often carry burdens that others never see.
Instead of only praying for leaders when something goes wrong, make it a habit to pray for them regularly.
Pray for wisdom.
Pray for protection.
Pray for their families.
Pray that God will keep their hearts tender and their lives faithful.

Lord, strengthen our pastor and every leader in our church. Give them wisdom, courage, humility, protection, and a fresh filling for the work You have called them to do. Amen.

September 18 — Send Us Workers

There is plenty of work to do.
Children need teaching. Young people need mentoring. Visitors need welcoming. Hurting people need encouragement. Lost people need the Gospel.
Jesus did not tell us to complain about the shortage of workers.
He told us to pray.
But be careful when you pray for workers.
God may answer by pointing at you.

Lord, send workers into Your harvest. Raise up teachers, servants, encouragers, witnesses, and leaders. And if You want to use me, help me say yes. Amen.

Church should never become merely another appointment on our calendar.
We gather because Jesus saved us!
Worship isn't about whether our favorite song was sung or everything happened exactly the way we prefer.
Worship is about Him.
Imagine what Sunday could look like if every person arrived already thankful, already praying, and already expecting God to work.
Revival changes the atmosphere because revival changes the worshipper.

Lord, restore joy to our worship. Help us come into Your house ready to praise, listen, respond, and serve with gladness. Amen.

September 20 — Give Power to the Preaching
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” — 2 Timothy 4:2

We do not need preaching designed merely to entertain us.
We need the Word of God.
Pray that every sermon preached from our pulpit will be faithful to Scripture, centered upon Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and delivered with courage and compassion.
But don't only pray for the preacher.
Pray for the hearers.
A powerful sermon accomplishes little if we refuse to respond.

Lord, give power to the preaching of Your Word. Give our pastor boldness and wisdom, and give us ears to hear and hearts willing to obey. Amen.

September 21 — Save Souls
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10

Never let us become comfortable having church without seeing people saved.
Buildings matter. Programs have value. Fellowship is wonderful.
But Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost.”
There are people all around us who need Christ.
Pray that God will give our church a burden for souls that cannot be satisfied by simply maintaining what we already have.

Jesus, give us a burden for lost people. Save souls through the ministry of our church. Help us never forget why You have placed us here. Amen.

September 22 — Open Our Eyes

Sometimes the mission field is closer than we think.
It's across the street.
It's at work.
It's at school.
It's in the grocery store.
It's the family that just moved down the road.
Jesus told His disciples to lift up their eyes.
Today, ask God to help you really see the people around you—not merely as strangers, but as souls for whom Jesus died.

Lord, open my eyes to the people around me. Help me see my community as a mission field and recognize the opportunities You place before me. Amen.

Jesus didn't merely see crowds.
He saw people.
He saw their pain, confusion, loneliness, and spiritual need.
It is possible to live around people every day without truly seeing them.
Revival gives us Christlike compassion.
Instead of asking, “What's wrong with people?” we begin asking, “How can I show them Jesus?”

Jesus, give me Your compassion. Help me see people the way You see them and love people the way You love them. Amen.

September 24 — Give Us Boldness

Many Christians know they should share their faith but are afraid.
What if I say the wrong thing?
What if they reject me?
What if they ask something I can't answer?
The early church prayed for boldness.
You don't have to know every answer to tell somebody what Jesus has done for you.
Tell your story.
Share the Gospel.
Invite somebody to church.
Trust God with the results.

Lord, give me boldness to speak about Jesus. Open a door for me to encourage, invite, or witness to someone today. Amen.

September 25 — Pray for Our Schools

Schools shape a tremendous part of the lives of young people.
Teachers carry enormous responsibility. Administrators make difficult decisions. Students face pressures previous generations never imagined.
They need prayer.
Today, pray for every school represented by families in our church and community.
Ask God to protect students, strengthen teachers, give administrators wisdom, and help Christian students live faithfully for Christ.

Lord, bless our schools. Protect our students, encourage our teachers, guide administrators, and help Christian students shine for You. Amen.

September 26 — Pray for Those Who Serve

Many people serve our community every day.
Law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, healthcare workers, public officials, utility workers, and countless others carry responsibilities we may rarely think about.
Instead of waiting for tragedy before praying for them, let's pray today.
Ask God to protect them, give them wisdom, strengthen their families, and help Christian servants represent Christ well.

Lord, bless those who serve our community. Protect them, guide their decisions, strengthen their families, and help us show appreciation for their service. Amen.

September 27 — Remember the Hurting

Someone near you is carrying something heavy.
Grief.
Loneliness.
Financial pressure.
Family trouble.
Fear.
A burden you may know nothing about.
A revived church notices hurting people.
Sometimes ministry is not complicated. It is a phone call, a meal, a prayer, a visit, or simply sitting beside someone who needs to know they are not alone.
Ask God today:
“Who can I encourage?”

Lord, comfort those who are hurting. Show me someone I can encourage today, and help our church be a place where burdened people experience the love of Christ. Amen.

September 28 — Who Is My One?
“He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.” — John 1:41

Andrew found Jesus—and then went looking for his brother.
What if every Christian began praying specifically for one person who needs Jesus?
One neighbor.
One coworker.
One friend.
One family member.
You don't have to reach everybody today.
Start with one.
Write their name somewhere you'll see it. Pray for them daily. Look for opportunities to build the relationship, share your testimony, invite them to church, and tell them about Jesus.

Lord, place one person upon my heart who needs You. Help me pray faithfully for them and give me an opportunity to point them toward Jesus. Amen.
SEND REVIVAL
September 29 — Do It Again, Lord
“O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.” — Habakkuk 3:2
Devotional
We read about times when God moved mightily.
Churches were revived.
Sinners were saved.
Families were changed.
Communities were affected.
And sometimes we wonder, “Could God do that again?”
Our God has not changed.
The question is whether His people still hunger for Him enough to seek Him.
Don't merely pray for God to repeat something from the past.
Ask Him to do a fresh work right now, right here, among us.
Today's Prayer
O Lord, revive Your work in our day. Do something among us that cannot be explained by human ability. Let us see souls saved, lives changed, families restored, and Your name glorified. Amen.

September 30 — Revive Us, O Lord!

For thirty days we have prayed.
Revive me.
Revive our homes.
Revive our church.
Revive our community.
Now we end where we began.
“Wilt thou not revive us again?”
But September ending does not mean the prayer should end.
What if these thirty days are only the beginning?
What if we continue searching our hearts?
Continue praying for our families? Continue praying for our church? Continue praying for lost people? Continue asking God to move?
Revival is not something we should desire for one month.
We should hunger for the presence and power of God every day.
So as this month's guide closes, let this prayer remain upon our hearts:
Lord, start with me, Lord, start in my home, Lord, move in our church.
Lord, reach our community, Lord, save the lost, Lord, have Your way.

Father, thank You for these thirty days of prayer. Don't let our burden end with this guide. Keep our hearts tender, our prayers fervent, and our eyes fixed upon Jesus. Whatever revival requires of me, help me be willing.
